The Payroll Executive/Specialist is responsible for accurately processing the company’s payroll, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, maintaining payroll records, and providing timely support to employees regarding salary and benefits. The role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and knowledge of payroll procedures and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Process monthly/bi-weekly/weekly payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
Verify attendance, leaves, overtime, shift allowances, and variable components.
Maintain and update employee payroll data such as new hires, exits, transfers, and salary revisions.
Handle full & final settlements and generate final payout reports.
Ensure compliance with statutory laws (e.g., PF, ESI, TDS, gratuity, bonus, minimum wage).
Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory returns.
Generate challans and ensure timely remittance of statutory payments.
Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
Generate reports such as payroll summaries, variance reports, cost-to-company (CTC) analysis, and reconciliation statements.
Coordinate with finance/accounting teams for payroll posting and audits.
Respond to employee queries related to salary, deductions, payslips, tax calculations, and reimbursement claims.
Assist employees with investment declarations and proof submissions.
Collaborate with HR, finance, and departmental teams to ensure smooth payroll operations.
Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and statutory authorities when required.
Strong knowledge of payroll systems and statutory regulations.
Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
