We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee core HR operations with a focus on seamless onboarding, regulatory compliance, and policy development. In this role, you will be responsible for building a structured, welcoming onboarding process for new hires, ensuring company-wide adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws, and crafting clear, effective organizational policies that support business growth and positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle
Design, implement, and continuously refine end-to-end onboarding and orientation programs that drive new-hire engagement and time-to-productivity.
Coordinate cross-functionally with IT, Operations, and Hiring Managers to ensure equipment, access, and training schedules are ready prior to Day 1.
Conduct Day 1 orientation sessions, walk new employees through benefit options, company policies, and culture expectations.
Solicit feedback through 30-60-90 day check-ins to evaluate the effectiveness of onboarding processes and improve retention.
2. Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure organizational compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, and state-specific mandates).
Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and required compliance documentation (such as Form I-9 verification and auditing).
Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits, compliance reviews, and legal counsel when necessary.
Direct workplace investigations, resolve complex employee relations issues, and manage disciplinary actions or separations in compliance with legal standards.
3. Policy Development & Administration
Lead the creation, updating, and enforcement of company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the Employee Handbook.
Monitor changes in employment legislation and proactively update policies to mitigate legal risk.
Communicate policy changes clearly to employees and conduct mandatory training sessions (e.g., anti-harassment, safety, and compliance).
Advise management on policy interpretation and fair, consistent application across all departments.
4. General HR Operations & Support
Oversee leave administration, workers' compensation claims, and benefit rollouts.
Support HR metrics tracking (e.g., turnover rate, time-to-fill, onboarding satisfaction scores) to inform strategic decisions.
Collaborate with executive leadership to align HR initiatives with company objectives.
