About the Role
You'll be Galaxy's first dedicated HR Generalist, reporting directly to Founder Ketan Shah. You'll own the full employee lifecycle — from writing job descriptions and coordinating interviews, to running monthly payroll, to keeping the company compliant with labour law as we add headcount across multiple states. You'll also be the go-to person for policy questions and workplace issues as the team grows.
What You'll Do
● Manage end-to-end recruitment: job postings, coordinating with any external recruiters, screening, interview scheduling, and offer rollout
● Run monthly payroll processing and ensure accurate, on-time salary disbursal
● Handle statutory compliance — PF, ESIC, professional tax, Shops & Establishments Act registrations across the states Galaxy operates in
● Draft and maintain HR policies (leave, attendance, code of conduct, expense reimbursement)
● Manage onboarding and offboarding, including documentation and asset handover
● Maintain employee records and HR MIS across all office and field locations
● Coordinate with the Founder on organizational structure as Galaxy expands to new cities
● Act as the first point of contact for employee queries, grievances, and workplace issues
What We're Looking For
Required:
● 2–4 years of experience as an HR Generalist, covering recruitment, payroll, and compliance
● Working knowledge of Indian labour law and statutory compliance (PF, ESIC, professional tax, Shops & Establishments Act)
● Hands-on experience running payroll, ideally with common payroll/HRMS tools
● Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving company where you'll own the HR function end-to-end
● Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred:
● Experience in a company with a multi-city or field sales team
● Prior experience setting up HR processes from scratch in a growing SME
● Familiarity with hiring for sales, technical, or field roles
Compensation
₹15,000–₹35,000 per month, based on experience.
