HR Manager

Job Title: HR Manager – Construction Industry (Organizational & Operational Role)

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Workforce Planning:

Planned and implemented HR strategies aligned with project timelines and business goals.

Forecast manpower requirements for project and plant-based roles across multiple sites.

End-to-End Recruitment & Deployment:

Manage hiring for technical, site, and support roles, including engineers, supervisors, operators, and labor.

Ensure timely mobilization and demobilization of manpower as per project demands.

Site HR Operations Management:

Handle site-level HR operations such as attendance, shift rosters, payroll coordination, and statutory compliance (e.g., PF, ESIC, CLRA, BOCW).

I'd like for you to maintain close coordination with the site-incharge and project managers for workforce needs.

Employee Relations & Labour Management:

Build strong relations with the on-ground workforce and labor contractors.

Address grievances, manage union relations (if applicable), and ensure labor law compliance.

Onboarding & Induction:

Design structured onboarding and orientation programs for site and HO staff.

Ensure proper documentation and verification as per compliance standards.

Performance Management:

Implement appraisal systems based on KPIs specific to project roles.

Track performance reviews for project execution, timelines, and quality benchmarks.

Training & Skill Development:

Conduct skill gap analysis for site staff, operators, and supervisors.

Organize technical and safety training programs in coordination with safety and project heads.

HR Policy Implementation:

Draft and enforce HR policies covering attendance, leave, behavior, safety, and code of conduct at construction sites and HO.

Ensure all policies align with labor laws and organizational standards.

Compliance & Documentation:

Maintain records for audits, contractor management, muster rolls, wage registers, and safety documentation.

Ensure timely submission of reports to regulatory authorities.

Operational Support & Coordination:

Act as a central HR point for coordinating with procurement, admin, finance, and project teams.

Support logistics for worker accommodation, transport, and welfare facilities.
