Service engineer

Job Summary:

The Service Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and service for water treatment equipment and systems. This includes installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components of water treatment plants. The engineer works closely with operations teams, clients, and vendors to ensure optimal plant performance and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Install and commission water treatment systems (RO, UF, DM, softeners, ETP/STP, etc.).

Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.

Monitor and optimize plant performance based on process data and lab reports.

Maintain service logs, reports, and documentation.

Provide technical training and guidance to plant operators or end-users.

Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Coordinate with design, procurement, and project management teams during project execution.

Respond to emergency service calls and conduct site inspections.

🧰 Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field).

4–5 years of experience in water treatment systems.

Hands-on experience with RO, UF, ETP, STP, WTP, pumps, valves, PLCs, and sensors.

Knowledge of water chemistry and treatment processes.

Ability to read P&ID drawings and electrical schematics.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Willingness to travel to plant or client locations as required.

Familiarity with safety protocols and environmental regulations.

🌍 Work Environment:

Mostly field-based at water treatment plant sites.

May require travel to multiple locations.

Occasional work in hazardous environments with PPE.

Involves both day shifts and emergency on-call duties.
