Senior Manager, Corporate Communications Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 14 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or communications. Preferred qualifications: 3 years of experience in a people management, supervision, or team leadership role. Experience in communications principles, crisis management, traditional and emerging channels, and broader communications trends. Experience advising executives and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships. Ability to work calmly and maintain acumen in fast-moving environments, and to adapt quickly and escalate. Ability to build effective relationships with executives and leadership teams. About the job As a member of the Global Communications & Public Affairs team, you will work cross-functionally to help communicate with journalists and other thought leaders; devise specific communications materials and campaigns; engage in face-to-face meetings with commentators and other opinion formers; and develop print and web-based material supporting these campaigns. We're looking for great communicators who can understand complex issues and explain them in person and also via well written, simple blog posts, FAQs, video scripts and more. As the Senior Manager of Corporate Communications for India, you will serve as the strategic architect of Google’s corporate narrative in a highly dynamic and critical market. You will go beyond traditional communications to drive business impact, positioning Google’s innovations at the forefront of industry discourse, preemptively mitigating reputational risks, and securing our long-term license to operate. By mobilizing external agency partners, cultivating alliances with influential stakeholders, and empowering a high-performing internal team, you will partner closely with cross-functional leadership to turn communications strategy into an advantage for Google. We help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders--and our own employees--about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. You are quick-witted, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious. To succeed in this role, you are willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines. Responsibilities Direct issues management programs and expertly manage communications in crisis situations to protect Google's reputation. Engage with community organizations, public interest groups, and other key opinion formers to enhance Google's public image and bring the outside world to Google. Lead the development and execution of integrated communications plans and ensure impactful messaging that correctly represents Google's point of view. Manage agency partners for critical programs, setting strategy, defining objectives, and monitoring performance. Lead, inspire, and mentor team members and foster their development.
