Roles & Responsibilities:
Mould / Die Manufacturing
Design, fabricate, and assemble precision moulds and dies used in manufacturing plastic caps and closures.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, 2D & 3D models, and tool designs.
Operate machines like milling, lathe, surface grinder, EDM, wire-cut, etc. for tool-making.
Mould Maintenance & Repair
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of moulds to ensure smooth production.
Identify wear and tear, cracks, or other damages and carry out necessary repairs.
Ensure all mould components are properly aligned and functioning.
Mould Assembly & Fitting
Fit and assemble all tool components (core, cavity, ejector pins, etc.) with high precision.
Check die/mould clearances, tolerances, and finish to meet required standards.
Perform trial runs and fine-tune dies for optimum output.
Production Support
Coordinate with production teams to resolve mould-related issues during machine operation.
Support mould changeovers and setting during new product trials.
Ensure timely availability of moulds as per the production plan.
Documentation & Quality
Maintain records of tool maintenance, modifications, and performance history.
Follow ISO and quality control standards during tool manufacturing and maintenance.
Inspect finished moulds to ensure they meet dimensional and functional accuracy.
Safety & Housekeeping
Follow safety protocols during machining and tool handling.
Maintain a clean and organized tool room environment.
Ensure all tools and measuring instruments are calibrated and stored properly.
Continuous Improvement
Suggest and implement improvements in mould design and manufacturing methods.
Contribute to cost reduction, cycle time improvement, and tooling efficiency.
Stay updated with new tool-making technologies and materials.
Required Skills & Experience:
ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making or equivalent.
2–5 years of experience in plastic caps & closures mould manufacturing or maintenance.
Strong knowledge of injection moulding tools, materials, and machining operations.
Understanding of CAD/CAM and basic machine programming (added advantage).
