Roles and Responsibilities
Design Development & Technical Expertise:
Tech Pack Creation: Develop detailed technical packages for all Gubbacci products, including precise measurements, fabric details, stitching specifications, and other manufacturing guidelines.
Standardization of Sizes: Standardize sizes across all Gubbacci products, working to reduce the need for customized sizes while ensuring a consistent fit across all garments.
Design & Mood Board Development: Conceptualize and create uniform designs tailored to the specific needs of schools and corporate clients. Develop and present mood boards to communicate design concepts.
Prototype Oversight: Oversee the creation of garment prototypes, conduct fittings, and ensure design accuracy and functionality.
Merchandising & Vendor Management:
Coordination with Sales Team: Collaborate with the sales team to understand and confirm sample and bulk requirements, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
Fabric Sourcing & Procurement: Source and procure approved fabrics, providing alternative options when necessary, while ensuring quality and safety standards.
Vendor Assignment & Management: Assign appropriate vendors for sample production, ensuring they have clear instructions and designs. Monitor vendor performance to ensure timely and quality delivery.
Quality Control: Inspect samples and final products for quality, ensuring that designs are executed accurately and meet the highest standards.
Size Set Collaboration: Work closely with the merchandising team to obtain size sets that match the specifications in the tech packs, ensuring consistency in fit and design.
Collaboration & Market Research:
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the merchandising team to align design efforts with market trends, customer preferences, and sales strategies.
Trend Research & Analysis: Stay updated on the latest fashion trends, fabrics, and technologies relevant to children's wear, and incorporate these insights into uniform designs.
Client Interaction: Engage with school representatives to gather detailed requirements, present design concepts, and obtain feedback to ensure client satisfaction.
Operational Excellence:
Zoho Inventory Management: Utilize Zoho for inventory management, ensuring seamless coordination between design, procurement, and production processes.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of design projects, procurement activities, and vendor assignments. Provide regular updates to management on progress and challenges.
Cost Management: Work within budget constraints, selecting cost-effective materials and production methods without compromising quality.
Bulk Production Consistency: Ensure that bulk production follows the specifications outlined in the tech packs, maintaining quality and consistency across all products.
Sustainability & Ethical Practices:
Sustainability Initiatives: Promote and implement sustainable design practices, exploring eco-friendly materials and production methods to minimize environmental impact.
Ethical Standards: Ensure all design and production activities adhere to ethical standards, particularly in the context of children's clothing.
