Job Title: Platform Engineer Location: Bangalore Business & Team: Retail Technology Impact & Contribution: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Cycle Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, testing, and automation, with a passion for DevOps and a systematic approach to solving complex problems. This role requires excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, experience in leading teams, and a deep understanding of the infrastructure that runs .NET applications Roles & Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for SAP Platform Engineering, SAP Basis, SAP HANA, and AWS Cloud, driving platform modernization, resilience, and cloud transformation initiatives. Lead the implementation, upgrade, migration, and operations support of large-scale SAP and SAP HANA landscapes across production and non-production environments. Manage SAP lifecycle activities including upgrades, enhancement/support packs, kernel upgrades, add-on installations, SSL certificate management, system refreshes, and migrations using SUM, DMO, and ZDO methodologies. Oversee SAP HANA engineering and administration, including installations, upgrades, system replication (HSR), high availability/disaster recovery, performance tuning, capacity planning, backup, recovery, and database optimization. Drive AWS-hosted SAP platform operations on Red Hat Linux, leveraging clustering technologies such as Pacemaker, while ensuring scalability, availability, security, and cost optimization. Provide leadership for L3 production support, managing major incidents, problem management, change and release activities, root cause analysis, and service reliability improvements to meet SLA commitments. Champion DevOps, SRE, observability, and automation practices through monitoring, telemetry, alerting, self-healing capabilities, Infrastructure as Code, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including SAP Functional, ABAP, Security, Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, and external vendors, leading architecture reviews, governance forums, and geographically distributed engineering teams. Essential Skills: 4-8 years of hands-on SAP Basis and SAP HANA experience supporting large-scale enterprise SAP environments. Strong leadership experience across Engineering, Operations and DevOps functions. Deep expertise in: SAP Basis Administration SAP HANA Administration Scale-Up & Scale-Out Architectures High Availability & Disaster Recovery SAP Upgrades and Migrations AWS Cloud Operations Linux Administration (RHEL & SUSE) Demonstrated experience leading complex SAP cloud transformation programs. Proven experience managing production support and critical business platforms. Strong knowledge of: Incident Management Major Incident Management Problem Management Change & Release Management Service Transition Operational Readiness Experience managing and mentoring engineering teams and technical specialists. AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
