Job Description

Job Title: Safety Engineer

Location: Pithampur, Dhar, MP

Experience Required: 3-4 years in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management in an industrial or construction setting.

Job Summary:

As a Safety Engineer, you will lead the identification and mitigation of safety risks, train teams on safety protocols, conduct surprise inspections, and

drive compliance with HSE regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Risk Identification & Mitigation:

    • Identify potential safety hazards and risks at the site and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

    • Regularly assess site conditions and practices to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

  2. Training & Development:

    • Design and deliver safety training programs for site engineers and installation teams.

    • Prepare comprehensive training plans to educate staff and contractors on safe work practices, ensuring they are aware of safety standards and regulations.

    • Develop and conduct presentations and workshops on safety topics to improve awareness and minimise risks.

  3. Safety Standards & Guidelines:

    • Develop, maintain, and update safety guidelines and protocols to ensure compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.

    • Ensure that safety guidelines are effectively communicated to the team and that they are followed rigorously on-site.

    • Work on creative ways to enhance safety standards and encourage the team to adhere to safety protocols.

  4. Monitoring & Enforcement:

    • Conduct surprise safety inspections and site visits to assess compliance with safety standards.

    • Identify any safety violations and take prompt corrective action to minimise risk and prevent accidents.

    • Record, track, and analyse safety violations and implement strategies to continuously reduce incidents.

    • Ensure safety equipment is available and being used correctly by all personnel.

 

 

 

  1. CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions):

    • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine the root causes.

    • Develop and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to address any safety violations or deficiencies identified during site visits or incident investigations.

    • Maintain accurate records of all safety violations, incidents, and CAPAs, and regularly report on trends and improvements.

  2. Team Engagement:

    • Promote a culture of safety by encouraging the team to be proactive in identifying and reporting potential risks.

    • Foster open communication regarding safety concerns and ensure all team members understand their role in maintaining a safe working environment.

    • Use creative methods (visual aids, posters, toolbox talks) to engage the workforce and reinforce the importance of safety.

  3. Reporting & Documentation:

    • Prepare and maintain accurate reports on safety performance, training sessions, inspections, and incidents.

    • Maintain documentation of all safety training, certifications, and safety audits.

    • Collaborate with site leadership and project managers to develop continuous improvement plans for site safety.

  4. Compliance:

    • Ensure all safety measures are by the relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

    • Monitor compliance with safety standards across all levels of the site, ensuring that workers are trained and equipped to follow safety procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of experience in HSE management within construction, industrial, or similar fields.

  • Strong ability to identify safety risks and develop practical solutions to mitigate them.

  • Proven experience in conducting safety training and developing training plans.

  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and ability to develop and enforce safety standards and guidelines.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively conduct safety workshops and team training.

  • Proficient in preparing CAPA for safety violations and tracking performance improvements.

  • Ability to conduct surprise site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety guidelines.

  • Strong organisational skills for maintaining records, reports, and documentation related to safety.

 

 

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent will be an advantage.

Compensation: 3-4.5 LPA or additional, depending on the candidate's experience and interview
