Quality Assurance Inspector / Engineer
Purpose of the Role
To ensure that all products manufactured meet customer specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements through effective inspection, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
In-Process Quality Control
Conduct first-off approval before production starts.
Perform hourly and stage-wise inspections during production.
Verify dimensions, appearance, fitment, and functional requirements as per control plans and drawings.
Monitor critical process parameters and report deviations immediately.
Ensure segregation of OK, Hold, and Rejected material.
Final Inspection
Conduct final inspection of finished goods before dispatch.
Ensure products meet customer specifications and approved samples.
Verify packaging standards, labeling, and traceability requirements.
Customer Quality Management
Handle customer complaints and prepare corrective action reports.
Coordinate with production and maintenance teams for root cause analysis.
Track customer PPM and rejection trends.
Support customer audits and quality visits.
Documentation & Records
Maintain inspection reports and quality records.
Update quality check sheets and inspection formats.
Ensure proper documentation of non-conforming products.
Maintain calibration records of measuring instruments.
Quality Improvement
Identify recurring defects and recommend corrective actions.
Participate in Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Reduce internal rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
Supplier Quality (If Required)
Inspect incoming raw materials and bought-out components.
Report quality issues to suppliers and monitor corrective actions.
Required Skills
Knowledge of plastic injection moulding processes.
Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
Understanding of GD&T basics.
Knowledge of quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, CAPA.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 and customer quality requirements.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
