Quality Assurance and Quality Control Manager

SE Asia Skid Quality Job Summary: If you are a QA/QC specialist, Emerson has an exciting role for you! We are looking for a QA/QC Manager/ Sr. Engineer to work for our India Pressure Management Business unit, Vadodara, Gujarat location. You will ensure that the systems under manufacture meet the required standards and specifications. This gives you a very important role involves both preventative measures (QA) and active inspection (QC) to maintain high-quality levels throughout the production / fabrication process for Natural Gas Skid. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Quality Assurance (QA): Process Development: Implement quality assurance processes and standards to be followed during skid/system development and fabrication. Policy Implementation: Ensure that all quality policies and procedures are adhered to, and work to continuously improve them at supplier/vendor. Auditing: Ensure adherence to industry codes & standards, and safety regulations by leading internal and external audits. Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with the afore mentioned and company policies. Conduct Vendor surveillance audits to monitor performance and qualification audits for inclusion into vendors list. Risk Management: Identify potential quality risks in the production / fabrication process and develop mitigation strategies. Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive QA documentation. Quality Control (QC): Develop and implement project quality plans to meet the quality requirements of project specifications and provide monthly status reports to the Project Manager. Monitor activities described in the project plans ensuring adherence, minimizing contract risk, and ensuring project activities integrate well with PMO procedures and processes. Establishing control procedures for skid manufacture; safe & reliable Procurement, Inspection of buy-out equipment and fabrication work; Compliance with contractual terms and relevant codes and standards. Examine tender documentation at the proposal stage to clarify and ensure QA requirements are met. Coordinate with internal team to provide Project Quality documents for customer approval. Perform regular inspections to ensure compliance of raw materials, components, and finished products are made to quality standards, and customers approved QAP/ITP. Conduct tests to identify any deviations from the specified quality standards, including destructive and non-destructive testing as applicable to project requirements. Investigate product defects or non-conformities, and work with the production team to address and resolve issues. Monitor the quality of Fabricator / Supplier / vendor and work closely with them to resolve any quality issues. Timely review & approval of supplier QAP, test certificates, documents for incoming items. Organize TPI inspection at Fabricator / Supplier location to project requirements and verify TPI report integrity. Prepare CIPL for the project packages based on the QA/QC requirements Co-ordinate external customer/supplier/3rd party audits and manage any corrective actions to successful closure. Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders related to customer quality complaints and on time closing these complaints with proper RCA & CAPA. Compilation of all MDR documents such as inspection reports, test certificate, and other project documents in line with QAP/ITP. CRM & Warranty coordination with customer, PMO Execution manager and sales team Who You Are: You quickly and decisively act in constantly evolving, unexpected situations. For This Role, You Will Need: Strong understanding of QA/QC principles and methodologies. Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS). Good technical knowledge and exposure in the skid/station fabrication and handling processes including familiarity with the ASME Sec-V, VIII & IX, the ASME B31 series as well as relevant ASTM, API and AWS D1.1 standards. Ability to interpret NDT activities such as Visual inspection, Dye penetrant testing, Magnetic particle testing, and radiography film interpretation. NDT Level II certification (PT, MPI, RT & UT) required and Welding inspector Certificate (CSWIP/AWS) advantageous but non-mandatory. Good knowledge & hands-on experience in fabrication to competently inspect and review ongoing works against Piping Isometrics, General Arrangements and BoQ/MTOs. Required to interpret technical drawings, specifications, datasheets, and quality standards. NACE Painting inspector certification; trained professional able to verify protective paint and coatings on metal and potentially concrete structures Good knowledge of piping materials associated structural supports, instrumentation & electrical cabling practices, and welding processes. Working experience in skid projects execution and ability to work independently. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Flexibility to travel to Fabricator / Supplier location to monitor and inspect the activities in line to QAP/ITP. Conversant in English is a must and ability to speak Hindi is an advantage. Core Competencies Action oriented Plans and aligns Manages complexity Communicate effectively Collaborates across functions Developing talent Integrity and compliance discipline Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Bachelor’s degree in engineering required: Mechanical, Materials, Chemical preferred but not mandatory; experience shall supersede. 10 years or more experience in QA/QC roles in the Oil & Gas Industry required preferably in Gas Transmission and Distribution sector particularly relating to Natural Gas Metering and Regulating Stations. QA/QC experience in fabrication and construction of skids/stations, Power Plant BOP fuel gas modules/skids, Boilers, Pressure Vessels, Refinery Equipment Manufacture would be advantageous.
