Plant Head

We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and results-driven Plant Manager to lead operations at our new, state-of-the-art soap and detergent manufacturing facility. In this role, you will hold complete operational and financial responsibility for the unit—driving everything from team hiring and setup to full-scale production, continuous optimization, regulatory compliance, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Setup & Talent Acquisition

• Lead the operational commissioning of the new manufacturing plant.

• Build and lead a high-performing team across production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and HSE (Health, Safety, & Environment).

• Establish plant hierarchy, recruit plant personnel, and manage shift schedules and labor optimization.

2. Production & Operational Excellence

• Set and achieve daily, monthly, and annual production targets aligned with corporate growth plans.

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), throughput, yield, and downtime.

• Supervise liquid/powder detergent processing, saponification/soap finishing lines, and automated packaging units.

• Drive Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies to maximize efficiency and continuous improvement.

3. Cost Control & Supply Chain Management

• Optimize manufacturing unit costs (utilities, labor, raw materials, waste) to maximize profitability.

• Oversee inventory management for raw materials (surfactants, oils, builders, fragrances) and finished goods.

• Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted production flow.

4. Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance

• Maintain strict adherence to local and national environmental, safety, and labor regulations (pollution control, hazardous material handling, industrial safety laws).

• Ensure product quality aligns with company standards, ISO certifications, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

• Drive a zero-incident safety culture through regular safety audits, training, and emergency protocols.

5. Reporting & Stakeholder Management

• Prepare and present monthly operational performance reports, cost-variance analysis, and budget forecasts to executive leadership.

• Act as the primary liaison for local government authorities, regulatory inspectors, suppliers, and external partners.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree. (An MBA or post-graduate degree in Operations Management is a plus).

• Experience: 8–12+ years in chemical manufacturing, FMCG, or personal care/home care production, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership/plant management role.

• Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of manufacturing and handling the entire production plant with ease.

• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar), automated packaging lines, and industrial automation (PLC/SCADA systems).

• Leadership: Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making capabilities with a track record of building and managing teams.
