Carry out mold changing on injection molding machines as per production plan.
Ensure correct mold installation, alignment, clamping, and connection of water, hydraulic, and electrical lines.
Set and verify machine parameters (temperature, pressure, cycle time, cooling time).
Perform trial runs after mold change and get first-off approval.
Handle molds carefully to avoid damage and ensure proper storage.
Supervise molding operators during shifts.
Allocate manpower to machines and ensure smooth shift handover.
Monitor production output, cycle time, and downtime.
Ensure achievement of daily production targets.
Ensure parts produced meet quality standards and customer specifications.
Monitor defects such as flash, short shots, sink marks, warpage, and discoloration.
Coordinate with Quality department for inspection and corrective actions.
Ensure proper use of approved process parameters.
Ensure safe mold handling practices using cranes, hoists, and lifting tackles.
Enforce use of PPE by operators.
Maintain 5S in molding shop floor and mold storage area.
Follow safety procedures during mold changing and machine operation.
Report machine, mold, or auxiliary equipment issues to maintenance/tool room.
Perform basic troubleshooting of molding machines and auxiliaries.
Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
Maintain mold change records, production reports, and downtime logs.
Update mold history cards and machine setting sheets.
Report daily production status to Production Manager.
Train operators on machine operation, safety, and quality requirements.
Guide new operators during initial production runs.
Ensure discipline, attendance, and adherence to company rules.
Strong knowledge of injection molding process.
Hands-on experience in mold changing and machine setup.
Ability to read mold drawings and setting sheets.
Leadership and team-handling skills.
Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Awareness of quality systems (ISO, SOPs).
