Manufacturing Engineer – Powertrain (Digital Process Planning) We are looking for a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to support digital process planning and manufacturing execution for powertrain components (engines, transmissions, electric drive units, battery systems). This role focuses on transforming engineering data into manufacturing-ready processes using digital manufacturing tools, while also supporting shop-floor implementation, line balancing, and plant launches. 1. Digital Process Planning Create and manage Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) from Engineering BOM (EBOM) Develop Bill of Process (BOP) and structure manufacturing sequences Build process trees, define operations, and assign workstations Generate and maintain electronic work instructions for shop-floor use Map tools, fixtures, and resources to manufacturing operations 2. Manufacturing Optimisation Perform line balancing and cycle time analysis to improve throughput Conduct time and motion studies to identify value-added vs non-value-added activities Optimise plant layout and workflow using digital tools Support plant-specific configuration of manufacturing processes 3. Change Management & Collaboration Update MBOM, process flows, and documentation based on engineering changes Work closely with Product Development, IT teams, and plant operations Support system testing (UAT) and digital tool enhancements Maintain manufacturing data in enterprise systems 4. Tooling & Launch Support Define technical requirements for tooling, fixtures, and equipment Support supplier interactions, technical reviews, and equipment buy-off Use virtual manufacturing tools for layout validation and ergonomics Support shop-floor installation, commissioning, and production ramp-up Ensure compliance with safety and ergonomic standards Required Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Industrial / Automotive Engineering 1–4 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering Basic understanding of automotive manufacturing processes (assembly/powertrain) Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD models (GD&T knowledge preferred) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Good communication and cross-functional collaboration ability Preferred (Nice to Have) Experience with Teamcenter / EasyPlan or similar digital manufacturing tools Exposure to EBOM–MBOM transformation and BOP creation Familiarity with time studies and line balancing Knowledge of PFMEA and control plans Exposure to electrified powertrain manufacturing Six Sigma certification (Green Belt/Black Belt) Experience in plant launch or equipment commissioning Experience Level Mid Level
