Manufacturing Machine Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor coffee roasting machines as per the production plan.

• Follow approved roasting profiles to achieve the desired roast quality.

• Monitor roasting parameters such as temperature, time, airflow.

• Load green coffee beans and discharge roasted coffee safely. (Silo or Manual)

• Perform routine machine inspections and report any abnormalities.

• Clean roasting equipment, destoners, cooling trays, and surrounding work areas.

• Record production data, batch details, and machine parameters accurately.

• Coordinate with the Quality team for roast evaluation and product consistency.

• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and hygiene standards.

• Ensure compliance with safety procedures while operating machinery.

• Assist in preventive maintenance activities and minimize machine downtime.

Production Operations

• Operate coffee roasting machines according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Load green coffee beans into the roasting machine as per batch requirements.

• Monitor roasting parameters such as temperature, time, airflow, drum speed, and gas pressure.

• Follow approved roast profiles for different coffee varieties and blends.

• Ensure consistency in roast colour, aroma, moisture, and bean development.

• Transfer roasted coffee safely to cooling trays and destoners.

• Ensure complete batch traceability from green coffee to finished roasted coffee.

• Maintain target production output with minimum wastage.

• Monitor machine performance throughout the roasting cycle.

• Perform trial roasting for new coffee blends when required.

Quality Control

• Check roasted bean colour and appearance.

• Identify under-roasted, over-roasted, or defective batches.

• Record roast parameters and production details accurately.

• Maintain consistency between production batches.

• Segregate and report non-conforming products.

Equipment Maintenance

• Perform daily machine inspection before starting production.

• Carry out routine cleaning of roaster, cyclone, cooling tray, and destoner.

• Remove chaff and coffee residue after production.

• Lubricate equipment as per maintenance schedules.

• Report machine abnormalities immediately.

• Assist maintenance personnel during preventive maintenance.

• Maintain machine logbooks.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all workplace safety procedures.

• Wear required PPE during production.

• Follow food safety and hygiene standards.

• Comply with GMP, HACCP, and company quality systems.

• Ensure fire safety around roasting equipment.

• Maintain housekeeping in the roasting area.

• Dispose of waste according to company procedures.

• Report unsafe conditions or near misses immediately.

Documentation

• Update machine operation logs.

• Record downtime and maintenance activities.

• Maintain cleaning checklists.

Continuous Improvement

• Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency.

• Reduce fuel and energy consumption.

• Minimize coffee wastage.

• Improve roasting consistency.

• Attend training programs to improve technical knowledge.

• It is a Full Time Manufacturing job for candidates with 1 - 3 years of experience.
