We are looking for a Lathe Machine Operator to join our team at Powertorc. The role involves operating machinery, assembling products and maintaining quality standards on the production floor. This position offers an in-hand salary of ₹20,000 - ₹50,000 and an opportunity to be part of a growing and essential industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Operation: Operate conventional lathe machines safely to perform turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, and other machining operations.
2. Component Manufacturing: Manufacture components as per engineering drawings, job cards, work orders, and specified dimensions.
3. Drawing Interpretation: Read and understand engineering drawings, tolerances, and machining specifications before starting production.
4. Machine Setup: Set up the lathe machine, select suitable cutting tools, and set the correct speed, feed, and depth of cut.
5. Dimensional Inspection: Check component dimensions using vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measuring instruments.
6. Quality Control: Ensure components meet specified quality standards, tolerances, and surface-finish requirements.
7. Production Target Achievement: Complete assigned machining jobs within the planned production schedule and required quality standards.
8. Tool and Material Handling: Select appropriate tools, handle raw materials properly, and report tool wear or material defects to the supervisor.
9. Machine Maintenance: Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance; report breakdowns immediately.
10. Safety Compliance: Follow machine safety procedures, wear appropriate PPE, and maintain safe working practices on the shop floor.
11. Rejection and Rework Control: Minimize machining errors, material wastage, rejection, and rework by checking components during production.
12. Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and proper arrangement of machines, tools, measuring instruments, and the assigned workstation.
13. Production Documentation: Maintain job cards, production records, inspection details, and other documents as required by the Production Department.
14. Coordination: Coordinate with the Production Supervisor, Quality Department, and other team members to resolve machining and quality-related issues.
Job Requirements:
The minimum qualification for this role is 10th Pass and 1 - 5 years of experience in manufacturing or a related field. Attention to detail, physical stamina and ability to follow instructions are very important for this role.
