Job Summary

The Bending Operator is responsible for setting up and operating bending machines (Press Brake / CNC Bending Machine) to bend sheet metal components as per drawings and production requirements while ensuring quality, safety, and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operate Press Brake / CNC bending machines for sheet metal fabrication

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions

Set up tools, dies, and machine parameters for accurate bending operations

Measure and inspect finished components using vernier, caliper, and gauges

Ensure bending angles, dimensions, and tolerances meet specifications

Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting

Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment (5S)

Coordinate with supervisors and quality teams to meet production targets

Report machine issues, defects, or material shortages promptly

Maintain production records and daily output logs

Skills & Competencies

Knowledge of sheet metal bending processes

Hands-on experience with Press Brake / CNC Bending Machines

Ability to read technical drawings and understand tolerances

Familiarity with measuring instruments

Basic knowledge of quality standards and safety norms

Attention to detail and accuracy

Teamwork and communication skills

Preferred Requirements

Experience in fabrication or heavy manufacturing industry

Knowledge of different metals (MS, SS, Aluminum)

Awareness of ISO / Quality systems (added advantage)
