Key Responsibilities:
1. Prescription Handling & Dispensing
Review and interpret prescriptions issued by registered medical practitioners.
Dispense medications accurately as per prescription.
Verify dosage, drug interactions, and contraindications.
Ensure correct labeling, packing, and billing of medicines.
Maintain patient confidentiality.
2. Patient Counseling
Educate customers on dosage, usage, side effects, and storage of medicines.
Advise on OTC (Over-The-Counter) products.
Provide basic health advice within professional scope.
3. Inventory Management
Monitor stock levels and ensure availability of essential medicines.
Check expiry dates and remove expired/damaged stock.
Maintain proper storage conditions (temperature control, refrigeration where required).
Coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment.
4. Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with Drugs & Cosmetics Act and Pharmacy Council guidelines.
Maintain prescription records and narcotic drug registers.
Ensure all licenses are valid and displayed.
Follow SOPs for controlled substances.
5. Billing & Operations
Handle billing software and cash/card transactions.
Reconcile daily sales and prepare reports.
Support store cleanliness and merchandising standards.
6. Customer Service
Address customer queries professionally.
Handle complaints and escalate when required.
Maintain positive customer relationships.
