Job Description

A Cath Lab Technician in a hospital (cardiovascular setting) prepares patients, operates specialized imaging/monitoring equipment, and assists cardiologists during procedures like angiograms and stenting. They maintain sterile fields, manage inventory (catheters, contrast media), monitor patient vital signs, and ensure safety, acting as a critical part of the cardiovascular team

Procedure Preparation: Preparing the patient, including cleaning, shaving, and anesthetizing the insertion site.
Equipment Operation: Operating X-ray machines, pressure injectors, and hemodynamics monitoring systems.
Technical Support: Assisting physicians in cardiovascular procedures (PTCA, pacemaker insertion) and maintaining a sterile field.
Patient Monitoring: Monitoring EKG and hemodynamics, reporting abnormalities, and providing care to reduce patient anxiety.
Inventory Management: Managing supplies, sterilizing equipment, and tracking consumables like catheters and stents.
Emergency Response: Acting swiftly during emergencies and adhering to safety/compliance protocols
