Job Summary
We are looking for a Desktop Engineer (L1) to provide first-level IT support, installation, and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers, and basic network tasks. The role involves handling day-to-day end-user issues, ensuring smooth functioning of IT infrastructure, and escalating complex problems to higher-level support when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Operating System & Driver Management
Install and configure Windows 10/11 operating systems.
Perform driver updates and system patching.
Software Installation & Configuration
Install and configure standard applications such as MS Office (2013/2016/2019/2021), Google Chrome, WinRAR, Adobe Reader/PDF tools, etc.
Assist with software activation and licensing.
Antivirus Deployment
Install and configure antivirus solutions (Quick Heal, McAfee, Kaspersky, etc.).
Perform basic virus scans and updates.
Hardware Management
Assemble and disassemble desktop PCs.
Replace and upgrade laptop components (RAM, SSD, Battery, etc.).
Networking (Basic)
Perform LAN cable crimping and patch panel punching.
Configure and troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues.
Printer Setup & Sharing
Install printers locally or via network.
Configure printer sharing across users and troubleshoot printing issues.
User Support
Provide day-to-day desktop support (hardware/software).
Escalate unresolved issues to L2/L3 teams as required.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of Windows OS (10/11) and basic troubleshooting.
Familiar with installation/configuration of common applications.
Basic understanding of networking (LAN/Wi-Fi, crimping, punching).
Good hardware knowledge (PC assembly, laptop component replacement).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
