Key Responsibilities
Clean and disinfect patient rooms, wards, corridors, waiting areas, offices, washrooms, and other assigned areas.
Follow hospital cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Use appropriate cleaning chemicals, equipment, and disinfectants safely and correctly.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and infection prevention.
Collect, segregate, and dispose of waste according to hospital biomedical-waste procedures.
Handle soiled linen and other contaminated materials using appropriate precautions.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as door handles, railings, switches, beds, and furniture.
Replenish soap, tissue, sanitizer, and other housekeeping supplies as required.
Report spills, damaged equipment, maintenance issues, pest concerns, or other hazards to the supervisor.
Follow proper procedures when cleaning isolation rooms and other high-risk areas.
