Key Responsibilities:
Making Calls (Outbound)
The core of the job is calling potential customers. This often involves "cold calling" (calling people who aren't expecting it) or calling "leads" (people who have shown interest).
2. Explaining the Product
You act as a bridge between the company and the customer. You need to explain what you are selling in a way that is easy to understand, focusing on how it helps the customer.
3. Handling "No" (Overcoming Objections)
Most people will say they are "too busy" or "not interested." A big part of the job is staying polite and finding ways to change their mind by highlighting the benefits of the product.
4. Closing the Sale
This is the main goal. You guide the customer to make a final decision, take their payment details or signatures, and complete the transaction.
5. Meeting Targets
Telesales is usually numbers-driven. You will have daily, weekly, or monthly goals for:
How many calls you make.
How many minutes you spend talking.
How many sales you actually finish.
