Position Summary
A.O. Smith is looking for energetic and career-oriented Sales Officer Trainees (SOT) to join the Sales Team.
This is a field-based sales role where the selected candidates will work directly with the A.O. Smith Sales Team and support business development, retail channel management, market expansion, and sales activities for Water Heaters and Water Purifiers.
The role will involve travelling across assigned markets in Karnataka and building strong relationships with retailers, dealers, distributors, and other sales channels.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Sales Team in achieving area-wise sales targets.
Visit and develop relationships with small appliance stores, electrical retailers, white goods retailers, dealers and distributors.
Support the development and strengthening of primary and secondary distribution networks.
Identify new retail opportunities and support market expansion.
Maintain strong relationships with existing channel partners.
Support the Sales Team in implementing sales and marketing strategies.
Monitor product availability, pricing and market activities.
Coordinate with the service team to ensure good service quality across distribution channels.
Identify and report market issues, payment concerns and potential credit risks.
Track competitor activities, market trends and customer feedback.
Prepare and submit regular/monthly reports covering sales performance, market opportunities, risks and competitive insights.
Participate in monthly/quarterly business reviews with Regional/Zonal Managers.
Travel extensively across Karnataka as required for business activities.
Candidate Requirements
Freshers only – candidates with 0–1 year experience can be considered.
Qualification: BBA / BCA / B.Sc.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good learning ability and willingness to build a career in Sales.
Comfortable interacting with retailers, dealers and distributors.
Must be willing to work in a field sales role.
Must be willing to travel extensively across Karnataka.
Candidates should be comfortable with regular market visits and meeting customers/channel partners.
Basic knowledge of MS Office/Excel will be an advantage.
Two-wheeler and valid driving licence would be preferred.
