Job Description – Store Lead

Job Summary

The Store Lead is responsible for overseeing daily store operations, leading the store team, ensuring excellent customer service, driving sales performance, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with company standards. The role acts as the second-in-command at the store and supports the Store Manager in achieving business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations Management

• Ensure smooth day-to-day store operations.

• Monitor opening and closing procedures.

• Maintain store hygiene, visual merchandising, and operational standards.

• Ensure compliance with company SOPs and policies.

Team Leadership

• Lead and supervise Store Associates and Team Leads.

• Assign daily responsibilities and monitor task completion.

• Coach, train, and develop team members.

• Maintain employee discipline, attendance, and productivity.

Sales & Business Growth

• Drive achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.

• Monitor store KPIs and implement improvement plans.

• Increase customer footfall through excellent service and local marketing initiatives.

• Promote upselling and cross-selling opportunities.

Customer Experience

• Ensure exceptional customer service at all times.

• Resolve customer complaints and escalations promptly.

• Build customer loyalty and encourage repeat purchases.

• Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements.

Inventory & Stock Control

• Ensure optimum stock levels and product availability.

• Monitor stock receiving, storage, and replenishment activities.

• Conduct stock audits and inventory checks.

• Minimize shrinkage, wastage, and stock losses.

Billing & Cash Management

• Supervise billing operations and cash handling.

• Verify daily cash reconciliation and store reports.

• Ensure billing accuracy and compliance with financial controls.

Compliance & Quality

• Ensure product quality, freshness, and expiry management.

• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and safety standards.

• Prepare the store for internal and external audits.

Qualifications

• Graduate in any discipline.

• 3–6 years of retail store operations experience.

• Minimum 1–2 years of team handling experience preferred.

Skills Required

• Strong leadership and team management.

• Sales and target orientation.

• Customer relationship management.

• Inventory and store operations expertise.

• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Communication and interpersonal skills.

• Basic knowledge of POS and retail software.
