MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for assisting Section Manager to attain sales target, control stock level, minimize shrinkage, maintain and improve stock display and replenishment, create high standard customer service, and manage effectiveness of employees’ performance in department.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Assist to order merchandise through OPL including LOTS Mail items, and maintain optimized stock level to meet sales target;
Reconcile stock on shelves and system, particularly high shrinkage items
Participate to order products through OPL system, regular order, LOTS Mail order and present the optimum quantity of product (regular order is done on a daily basis)
Prepare order form for required urgent cases and send fax to suppliers
2. Ensure the deliveries by suppliers are on time, in the right quantity, with the right quality and in the right condition
3. Maintain high standards of stock presentation and display
Replenish stock – ensure LOTS Mail (LM), KVI, Top Sellers, and Gap check items are given priority
Review and re-arrange stock presentation periodically - consistently teach the 6 Rights +1 merchandising philosophy (the Right Merchandise, in the Right Place, at the Right Time, at the Right Price, in the Right Quantity, in the Right Condition, with the Right Service), while organizing top selling and slow movement/non-movement products accordingly
Work with Section Manager on layout/plan-o-gram/space allocation
Manage storage area (on racking) with safety in mind; group by category and tag each pallet for convenience in finding product
4. Maintain cleanliness of stock, shelves and working area
Ensure signage & railcards are correct and up to date
Regularly scan the railcards and bar codes to ensure that correct information are printed and displayed on a timely basis
Ensure staff maintains cleanliness of the store; no spill should ever be left unattended
5. Create customer satisfaction by building relationships, paying attention to all inquiries, complaints, and recommendations from customers; when possible, make eye contact and greet customers, or when a customer asks for the location of an item, ensure the customer is always accompanied to the specific location
6. Assist in conducting and coordinating PI activities
Ensure preparation is completed before the Perpetual Inventory
Ensure articles, bays, aisles are located according to ALC plan
Locate and arrange for articles to be placed on the registered aisle/bay
Pre-count articles are counted accurately on PI day
Key the stock counted into hand-held system
Check variance reports and do third count sheet the next day – work closely with Section Manager
9. Minimize shrinkage
Propose and allocate stocks in “low risk” areas
Discuss with subordinate to be aware of theft, damage, loss of merchandise
Discuss with Section Manager and plan PI schedule
Check out the process of stock counting to ensure procedure is followed
Constant checking and following up with staff on the accuracy of the counting and recording
Control level of high shrink product display
Re-check high shrinkage product upon receipt at GR department
Ensure that damaged assets are handled following proper procedure
Follow-up with any customer items requiring repair
9. Monitor operation and maintenance of machinery/equipment
Ensure that department equipment is used properly and maintained according to manufactures guidelines and kept in the right place
Coordinate with ALC & GA Department on equipment and cleaning tools for staff
Ensure safety of all employees and customers – safety procedures should be followed at all times, safety equipment should be utilized as stated in company policies, forklifts must be operating in safe manner with Spotters utilized during business hours, and department must be safe from potential accidents
10. Control and monitor disposal and clearance items
Disposal / re-packaging/ clearance
Record the particular stocks
In absence Section Manager or ASGM, prepare documentation (stock level changes form) and obtain Store General Manager’s (SGM) approval
11. Monitor manpower of each department in order to plan daily manpower
12. Understand the market trend and popular merchandise, particularly electronics product
13. Performs any other tasks not specified here within as required by Section Manager/ASGM/SGM
14. Ensure adherence to department and Company SOPs and escalates in case of any gaps observed.
Education and/or Job Experience Requirements
1. Graduate and/or minimum 2 years’ experience in same profile
