As a Shift In-charge, you are the heartbeat of the store during your shift. Your main goal is to ensure that every order is picked, packed, and dispatched within minutes. You will lead a team of delivery partners and pickers to maintain Zepto’s promise of 10-minute delivery while keeping the store organized and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Operations & Speed
Oversee the end-to-end flow of orders (Inwarding, Picking, Packing, and Dispatch).
Monitor "Live" dashboards to ensure no order is delayed.
Manage inventory levels and ensure products are placed in the right bins for fast picking.
2. People Management
Supervise a team of 15–30 staff members (pickers and delivery riders).
Create shift rosters and ensure enough people are on duty during peak hours.
Solve on-ground conflicts and keep team morale high during high-pressure "rush" times.
3. Quality & Safety
Ensure 100% accuracy in orders (no missing or wrong items).
Maintain strict hygiene and safety standards within the dark store.
Conduct quick training sessions for new joiners on store processes.
Candidate Requirements
Experience: Minimum 6 months –2 years of experience in e-commerce, quick-commerce (like Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart,zepto), or retail store operations.
Leadership: Proven ability to handle a team of blue-collar workers.
Tech Savvy: Comfortable using smartphone apps and basic Excel to track store performance.
Soft Skills: Clear communication in local language and basic English.
Flexibility: Ready to work in rotational shifts (morning, evening, or night).
