We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Store In-Charge to manage the day-to-day operations of the store/warehouse. The role will be responsible for inventory control, receiving and issuing materials, maintaining accurate stock records, supervising store staff, and ensuring that all materials are stored safely and systematically.
The Store In-Charge will also coordinate with Purchase, Accounts, Production, Sales, and other departments to ensure smooth and timely movement of materials.
Key Responsibilities
1. Store & Inventory Management
Manage day-to-day store/warehouse operations.
Maintain accurate records of all inward and outward stock movements.
Monitor stock levels and ensure minimum/maximum stock requirements are maintained.
Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconciliation.
Identify shortages, excess stock, damaged goods, and discrepancies.
Follow FIFO/FEFO principles wherever applicable.
Ensure proper identification, labeling, stacking, and storage of materials.
2. Material Receiving
Receive materials from suppliers and verify them against Purchase Orders, invoices, and delivery documents.
Check quantity, condition, and basic specifications of incoming materials.
Coordinate with Quality/other concerned departments for inspection and approval.
Record received materials accurately in ERP/software/registers.
Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the concerned department.
3. Material Issue & Dispatch
Issue materials against approved requisitions/requests.
Ensure proper documentation for all material issues and dispatches.
Coordinate with transporters and internal departments for timely dispatch.
Maintain complete records of dispatched materials.
4. Team Management
Supervise and allocate work to store/warehouse staff.
Ensure employees follow proper handling, safety, and housekeeping procedures.
Train staff on material handling and store processes.
Monitor attendance, productivity, and discipline of the store team.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain GRN, issue slips, stock registers, delivery challans, and other store documents.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory/MIS reports.
Maintain accurate ERP/system entries.
Report inventory variances and operational issues to management.
Maintain records required for internal and external audits.
6. Safety & Housekeeping
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
Ensure proper stacking and storage of materials.
Follow company safety, security, and fire-safety procedures.
Minimize product/material damage, wastage, and stock loss.
Required Qualifications
Graduate / Diploma / ITI or equivalent qualification.
Experience in retail, FMCG, manufacturing, distribution, or a similar environment will be preferred.
Knowledge of inventory control and stock reconciliation.
Basic to good knowledge of MS Excel.
Experience with ERP/inventory management software is an advantage.
