For a ladies ethnic wear shop, an office boy (store helper) handles basic cleaning, small admin work, and supports sales staff with floor and stock tasks suited to an entry-level role.​

Main duties

• Maintain cleanliness of showroom, trial rooms, office cabin, pantry and washroom; regular dusting, sweeping and mopping.​

• Serve water/tea to staff and customers, keep glasses, cups and pantry items clean and stocked.​

• Arrange products on racks, refill shelves, keep sarees/suits/lehenga stacks neat and properly folded.​

• Help in opening and closing duties like switching lights, AC, locking shutters and checking if everything is in place.​

Stock and back-office work

• Assist in receiving goods, counting pieces, tagging, labelling and shifting cartons to storage.​

• Support simple inventory work like separating damage/alteration pieces, helping in stock checks as guided by senior staff.​

• Carry files, bills, packets between shop, godown and nearby courier/transport or bank for small deposits if required.​

Customer support on floor

• Greet walk-in customers politely and guide them to sales staff, offer water and seating if they are waiting.​

• Bring required designs/sizes from rack or store room for sales staff, carry parcels to customer’s vehicle when needed.​

• Keep trial rooms ready with hangers, pins, and ensure used garments go back quickly to concerned rack.​

Behaviour and basic requirements

• Stay punctual, presentable, with clean clothes and good personal hygiene suitable for a showroom environment.​

• Follow instructions of owner/manager/sales in-charge, maintain discipline, and be honest in handling cashless errands and items.​

• Minimum 10th pass is common but many shops also take fresher boys who are sincere and ready to learn
