Job Description – Retail Executive

Department: Retail
Function: Store Operations & Sales
Designation: Retail Executive
Location: Store / Retail Outlet
Reporting To: Store Manager / Assistant Store Manager

Role Purpose

The Retail Executive will be responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while achieving store sales and business targets. The role requires strong customer engagement, product knowledge, selling skills, store discipline, and adherence to operational standards.

The individual will act as a brand ambassador, ensuring every customer interaction reflects the brand's premium positioning.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Performance

• Achieve individual and store-level sales targets.

• Drive conversion, average bill value (ABV), units per transaction (UPT) and multi-product selling.

• Identify customer needs and recommend relevant products through consultative selling.

• Maximise every customer interaction and explore opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling.

• Actively participate in store sales campaigns, contests and incentive programs.

• Maintain strong follow-up with prospective customers to convert enquiries into sales.

2. Customer Experience

• Welcome and engage every customer proactively.

• Understand customer requirements, preferences and budget before recommending products.

• Provide detailed product demonstrations and explain product features, benefits and usage.

• Create a personalised and memorable shopping experience.

• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and escalate issues when required.

• Build long-term customer relationships and encourage repeat visits.

3. Product Knowledge

• Maintain strong knowledge of all products, categories, features, pricing and ongoing promotions.

• Stay updated on new product launches and product innovations.

• Communicate the brand story, product proposition and key differentiators effectively to customers.

• Ensure products are presented and explained in accordance with brand guidelines.

4. Store Operations

• Follow daily store opening and closing procedures.

• Ensure high standards of store hygiene, housekeeping and overall presentation.

• Maintain accurate inventory and support stock replenishment.

• Participate in stock counts, stock audits and inventory management activities.

• Ensure proper handling, tagging and security of merchandise.

• Follow all company SOPs, policies and compliance requirements.
