Prescription Preparation & Dispensing Support
Receive and screen orders: Greet patients, intake incoming prescriptions from doctors or drop-offs.
Count and package: Measure, count, label, and package medications.
Assist with compounding: Help prepare specialized or non-commercially available drug.
Customer Service & Patient Communication
First point of contact: Answer telephone calls and handle front-counter inquiries.
Over-the-counter (OTC) sales: Assist customers in finding non-prescription items and provide general product information.
Inventory & Stock Management
Monitor stock levels: Track available inventory, log incoming shipments, and flag out-of-stock items.
Restock and organize: Arrange medications and retail goods on shelves by therapeutic use or alphabetical order.
Check expiration dates: Routinely inspect stock for expired products and apply the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation method.
Secure controlled substances: Handle narcotics and restricted drugs in compliance with strict legal storage and logging mandates.
Administrative & Financial Tasks
Handle billing and insurance: Process cash registers, handle point-of-sale transactions, and assist with filing insurance or third-party claims.
Maintain hygiene: Keep counters, waiting areas, and equipment clean and sanitized to meet health standards.
