A Furniture Salesperson acts as a specialized retail consultant, guiding customers through the selection, customization, and purchasing process to meet their home furnishing needs. Key duties include engaging customers, providing detailed product knowledge, achieving sales targets, maintaining showroom displays, and coordinating deliveries. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, a flair for design, and availability for weekend/holiday shifts.
Core Responsibilities
Customer Engagement: Greet customers, identify their needs, and provide tailored design advice to help them select furniture that matches their style and budget.
Sales Generation: Meet or exceed individual and team sales targets by closing sales and promoting financing options or special promotions.
Product Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of furniture trends, materials, and product features to accurately inform customers.
Showroom Maintenance: Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and properly stocked with well-arranged merchandise.
Administrative Tasks: Process sales transactions, handle returns, and coordinate with the delivery team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Prior retail or sales experience is highly preferred, specifically in furniture or home decor.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.
Design Sense: Basic understanding of interior design principles and space planning.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures, process transactions, and handle payments.
Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
