We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Refrigeration Mechanic to join our growing team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our cooling operations, responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.
Key Responsibilities
System Installation & Commissioning
Assemble, install, and commission commercial/industrial refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, display cases, ice machines, and chillers.
Lay out and connect copper or steel piping for refrigerant lines, ensuring leak-free brazing and soldering.
Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals to ensure precise installation according to engineering specifications.
Diagnostics & Emergency Repair
Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in refrigeration systems under time-sensitive conditions.
Repair or replace defective components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, TXVs (thermal expansion valves), motors, and digital control boards.
Respond swiftly to emergency breakdown calls to prevent product spoilage or operational downtime.
Preventative Maintenance
Perform routine, comprehensive inspections and system tune-ups to optimize energy efficiency and prolong equipment lifespan.
Test system pressures, temperatures, and electrical currents; clean coils, calibrate controls, and check oil levels regularly.
Identify potential system failures early and recommend proactive upgrades or repairs.
Environmental & Safety Compliance
Safely recover, recycle, and charge refrigerants (such as R-404A, R-134a, ammonia, or CO2) in strict compliance with EPA regulations and environmental laws.
Maintain meticulous records of refrigerant usage, disposal, and leak testing logs.
Adhere strictly to OSHA standards, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, and company safety policies.
