Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced MIG Welder to join our fabrication team. The candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality MIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and other metal components while ensuring accuracy, safety, and productivity. The ideal candidate should be able to read engineering drawings, operate welding equipment efficiently, and maintain quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform MIG welding on metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
Prepare materials by cleaning, measuring, cutting, and fitting before welding.
Inspect welded joints to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards.
Operate welding machines, grinders, and other fabrication tools safely.
Repair defective welds and perform rework when required.
Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of welding equipment and work area.
Follow all safety regulations, PPE requirements, and company policies.
Coordinate with supervisors and quality inspectors to complete assigned work within deadlines.
Minimize material wastage and maintain efficient production practices.
Required Skills
Good knowledge of MIG welding techniques and welding parameters.
Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.
Knowledge of measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, measuring tapes, and gauges.
Familiarity with fabrication tools and workshop equipment.
Basic understanding of welding defects and corrective actions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience
1–5 years of experience in MIG welding in a fabrication or manufacturing industry.
Experience in welding MS, SS, and structural components is preferred.
