Operate VMC machines according to production plans and work instructions.
Load and unload raw materials and finished components safely.
Read and understand engineering drawings, process sheets, and operation instructions.
Set workpieces, fixtures, and cutting tools as per job requirements.
Perform tool offset adjustments and minor machine settings under the guidance of the supervisor.
Inspect machined components using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
Ensure all components meet quality specifications and dimensional tolerances.
Report any dimensional deviations, machine abnormalities, or tool wear immediately to the supervisor.
Replace worn or damaged cutting tools as required.
Maintain machine cleanliness and follow 5S practices at the workstation.
Perform daily machine cleaning and routine maintenance as per the maintenance checklist.
Record production, rejection, machine downtime, and inspection details accurately.
Minimize material wastage and improve machine utilization.
Follow production schedules to meet daily output targets.
Adhere to all safety rules, use the required PPE, and maintain a safe working environment.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist in reducing cycle time and improving productivity.
Required Skills
Knowledge of VMC machine operations.
Ability to read engineering drawings.
Basic understanding of CNC programming and G-code/M-code.
Knowledge of cutting tools and machining parameters.
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
