Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Operation

• Operate VMC machines to manufacture components as per production drawings.

• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts.

• Monitor machine performance during operation.

2. Setup & Tool Handling

• Set up tools, fixtures, and workpieces on VMC machines.

• Perform tool offset adjustments and tool changes when required.

• Ensure correct cutting parameters such as speed, feed, and depth.

3. Reading Drawings

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job specifications.

• Understand tolerances, dimensions, and machining instructions.

4. Quality Control

• Measure components using instruments such as:

  • Vernier caliper

  • Micrometer

  • Height gauge

  • Dial indicator

• Ensure parts meet required quality standards and tolerances.

5. Machine Maintenance

• Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning.

• Report machine issues or breakdowns to the supervisor or maintenance team.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of VMC / CNC machining operations

• Ability to read engineering drawings

• Knowledge of cutting tools and machining parameters

• Basic understanding of G-code / CNC programming (preferred)

• Familiarity with measuring instruments
