Qualifications:
ITI certification in Turner or relevant discipline
Proven experience as a Turner or in a similar role
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Strong mechanical aptitude
Attention to detail and precision
Good understanding of safety procedures

Key responsibilities:
Operating Lathes: Using lathes to create cylindrical shapes, cut threads, and perform other turning operations.
Setting Up Machines: Preparing lathes and other turning machines for specific tasks, including selecting appropriate cutting tools and setting machine parameters.
Reading and Interpreting Drawings: Understanding and following engineering drawings to ensure accurate part dimensions and specifications.
Quality Control: Measuring and inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on lathes and other turning equipment.
Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the turning process.
Collaboration: Working with engineers, designers, and other production personnel to achieve project goals.
