SENIOR DIE FITTER (MOULD ASSEMBLY

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete assembly and fitting of precision injection moulds.

• Perform accurate slider passing, matching, fitting and movement checking.

• Assemble and inspect hot-runner moulds and hot-runner systems.

• Carry out core, cavity, insert, slider, lifter and wear-plate fitting.

• Perform blue matching, spotting, polishing and final mould fitting.

• Check mould alignment, shut-off areas, parting lines and clearances.

• Assemble manifolds, nozzles, heaters, thermocouples and electrical connections.

• Check hot-runner wiring, resistance, insulation and continuity.

• Identify and rectify leakage, mismatch, jamming and alignment problems.

• Read and understand mould assembly drawings and engineering drawings.

• Use precision measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore

gauges, height gauges and dial indicators.

• Conduct final mould inspection and support mould trials.

• Troubleshoot mould-related problems during trial and production.

• Guide and supervise junior die fitters and assembly technicians.

• Maintain 5S, safety and quality standards in the assembly department.

• Complete assigned work according to the production schedule and delivery targets.

Mandatory Technical Qualification:

• ITI in Fitter, Tool & Die Maker, Machinist or equivalent technical trade; OR

• Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or

an equivalent technical discipline.

• Technical qualification from a recognised institute is mandatory.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Minimum 8–10 years of hands-on experience in injection mould assembly.

• Strong knowledge of slider passing and slider mechanism assembly.

• Strong experience in hot-runner mould and hot-runner system assembly.

• Experience in multi-cavity precision moulds is preferred.

• Experience in PET preform mould assembly will be an added advantage.

• Good knowledge of mould components, tool steels, tolerances and fitting methods.• Ability to independently assemble and troubleshoot a complete mould.

• Ability to understand technical drawings, dimensions and tolerances.

• Good leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

• Candidate should be responsible, disciplined and quality-focused.

Preferred Candidate:

• Experience in PET preform moulds, plastic injection moulds or precision multi-cavity

moulds.

• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic slider/core-pulling systems.

• Experience in handling mould trials and resolving trial-related problems.

• Willingness to work in shifts whenever required.
