Job Title: Senior Tool Room Technician / Tool Room EngineerExperience: 5–6 YearsDepartment: Tool Room / Engineering & ManufacturingReports To: Tool Room Supervisor / Production ManagerJob SummaryExperienced and detail-oriented Tool Room professional with 5 to 6 years of expertise in manufacturing, maintaining, and repairing industrial tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures. Proven capability in interpreting complex engineering drawings, operating conventional and CNC machinery, and troubleshooting tooling issues to minimize production downtime. Ready to take ownership of tool room operations, mentor junior technicians, and ensure strict compliance with quality and safety standards.Key Responsibilities1. Tooling Development & MaintenanceFabrication: Manufacture high-precision tools, injection molds, press tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures according to blueprint specifications.Preventive Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance and cleaning of existing tools to prolong service life and ensure operational efficiency.Troubleshooting: Diagnose, modify, and repair tool failures, wear, or damage reported by the production line to minimize downtime.2. Machine Operation & Technical SkillsMachining: Operate conventional tool room machinery with high proficiency, including milling machines, lathe machines, surface grinders, and drilling machines.CNC/EDM Support: Set up and operate CNC machines or Wire Cut/EDM equipment (preferred skill).Precision Measurements: Utilize advanced measuring instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators to ensure tolerances up to micron levels.3. Process Improvement & CollaborationDrawing Interpretation: Read and precisely interpret 2D and 3D engineering designs, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols, and CAD data.Material Management: Select appropriate tool steels, materials, and heat-treatment processes based on tool application requirements.Teamwork: Partner with production, quality control, and design teams to optimize tooling designs and resolve manufacturing defects.Required Skills & QualificationsEducation: ITI (Tool & Die Maker), Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or NTTF certification.Experience: 5–6 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing tool room environment (Automotive, Plastic Injection Molding, or Sheet Metal industries preferred).Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of tool geometry, cutting parameters, and heat treatment procedures.Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and the ability to mentor junior operators.Safety: Deep commitment to workshop safety protocols, 5S principles, and maintaining a clean work environm
