• Formulate solvent-based epoxy and PU direct-to-metal coating systems, including single-coat DTM, surface-tolerant and high-build variants.
• Develop supporting solvent-based systems as required: alkyd, epoxy zinc phosphate, zinc-rich, MIO primers and PU topcoats.
• Select and balance binders, anticorrosive pigments, adhesion promoters and additives for direct adhesion on MS and other metal substrates.
• Select hardeners for two-pack systems (polyamide, polyamine, amine adduct, aliphatic and aromatic isocyanate) and set mix ratio, pot life, induction time and cure profile.
• Design thinner and solvent blends to control viscosity, evaporation rate, flow, sag resistance and application window.
• Modify existing formulations for drying time, DFT, gloss, shade, corrosion resistance and cost targets.
• Match shades and maintain formulation records and batch cards.
