JOB DESCRIPTION – JR. STORES EXECUTIVE

Position Details

Designation: Jr. Stores Executive Department: Stores Reporting To: Stores Manager Employment Type: Permanent

Experience: 1–3 Years/ Qualification: HSC/ Graduate / preferably B. Com/ BBA Location: Ambernath

Job Purpose

To support day-to-day Stores operations by ensuring timely receipt, verification, storage and issue of materials, accurate inventory records and documentation, and smooth coordination with Purchase, Production and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Stores Operations

• Receive incoming materials and verify quantity, identification and basic condition against relevant documents.

• Prepare GRIN / GRN, stock entries and other Stores-related documents.

• Ensure proper storage, identification and preservation of materials.

• Issue materials to Production and other departments against authorized requirements.

• Follow FIFO / FEFO principles wherever applicable.

• Ensure proper material handling and minimize material damage or loss.

• Maintain accurate physical and system stock records.

2. Inventory & Documentation

•Update ERP / SAP transactions for material receipt, issue and stock movement.

•Maintain Stores registers, records and supporting documentation.

•Assist in periodic stock verification and reconciliation.

•Report shortages, discrepancies, damages or excess stock to the Stores In-Charge.

•Support inventory control and maintain proper traceability of materials.

3. Coordination

•Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Quality and other departments for timely material availability.

•Follow up on material requirements and shortages as directed by the Stores In-Charge.

•Ensure timely issue of materials to support production requirements.

4. Team & Helper Management

•Allocate and monitor work for helpers and operators based on daily workload.

•Guide the Stores team in material handling, storage and housekeeping activities.

•Monitor discipline, productivity and safe working practices within the Stores area.

5. 5S, Safety & Housekeeping

•Maintain proper 5S, housekeeping and cleanliness in the Stores area.

•Ensure materials are properly labelled, arranged and stored at designated locations.

•Follow all applicable safety procedures and material-handling practices.

•Report unsafe conditions and support implementation of corrective actions.

6. Continuous Improvement

•Identify and report opportunities for improvement in Stores processes.

•Support initiatives related to inventory accuracy, material handling, 5S and cost reduction.

•Follow revised processes, systems and work instructions as communicated by the department.

Key Skills & Competencies

•Basic knowledge of ERP/SAP and inventory transactions

•Knowledge of material receiving, inwarding and inspection processes

•Understanding of material issue against authorised documents

•Knowledge of bin management, stock identification and material traceability

•Ability to conduct physical stock counting and reconciliation

•Good understanding of FIFO/FEFO and inventory control practices

•Basic to intermediate MS Excel skills for inventory records and reporting

•Knowledge of 5S, industrial safety, material handling and warehouse discipline

•Good communication, coordination and teamwork skills

•Strong problem-solving, follow-up and responsibility mindset

Eligibility

•Qualification: HSC/ Graduate / preferably B. Com/ BBA

•Experience: 1–3 years in Stores / Warehouse / Inventory operations

•Experience in a manufacturing / engineering environment will be preferred.

•Willingness to work in shifts, if required.

•Candidates with hands-on experience in ERP/SAP-based Stores operations will be preferred.

Role Requirements

The position requires a responsible and disciplined individual who can effectively manage day-to-day Stores activities, coordinate with multiple departments, handle Stores documentation and ERP transactions, and ensure uninterrupted material availability to support production.
