Key Responsibilities
Incoming and raw material
Inspect incoming PET, PBT, LDPE, PP, and masterbatch against COA and grade
Verify drying and moisture control before molding
Approve or reject lots and raise supplier non-conformance reports
In-process and final inspection
Conduct first-piece, patrol, and final inspection as per control plan
Check dimensions, weight, appearance, and functional fit using gauges, vernier, micrometer, and fixtures
Monitor defects: flash, short shot, sink marks, warpage, silver streaks, weld lines, burn marks, color variation
Stop the line and escalate when parameters or quality drift
Documentation and systems
Maintain control plan, PFMEA, inspection standards, and SPC charts
Support PPAP / sample submissions and mold trial reports
Maintain gauge calibration records and conduct MSA
Prepare daily and monthly rejection reports with Pareto analysis
Customer and corrective action
Handle customer complaints and prepare 8D / CAPA reports
Perform root cause analysis with production, tooling, and maintenance teams
Verify effectiveness of corrective actions
Train operators and inspectors on quality standards and defect identification

Requirement
Qualification
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical, Plastics, Polymer, Production); CIPET preferred
Experience
2 to 5 years in QC in plastic injection molding or automotive components
Technical
Drawing reading, GD&T basics, gauges and measuring instruments
Quality tools
7 QC tools, 8D, SPC, MSA, FMEA, control plan, PPAP
Standards
Working knowledge of IATF 16949 / ISO 9001
Software
MS Excel and MS Word; ERP knowledge is an added advantage
Languages
Tamil and basic English
Preferred
Experience with press sizes of 50 to 120T and multi-cavity molds
Exposure to CMM or VMS
Experience handling OEM / Tier-1 customer audits
Skills
Analytical and problem-solving ability
Attention to detail and accurate reporting
Ability to coordinate with production, tooling, and stores
