Job Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality through effective implementation of inspection processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves managing in-process and incoming inspections, maintaining quality documentation, handling CAPA, and supporting audits to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. In-Process Quality Control
· Conduct stage-wise inspection as per Control Plan
· Monitor production activities to ensure quality compliance
· Identify defects and coordinate with production for corrective action
· Ensure adherence to process parameters and standards
2. Incoming Quality Inspection
Inspect raw materials and components as per specifications
Verify supplier documents (MTC, COA, etc.)
Maintain incoming inspection reports and records
Handle rejection and supplier quality issues
3. Quality Documentation
Prepare and maintain Control Plans, SOPs, Work Instructions, and Check Sheets
Maintain inspection records and traceability
Handle PPAP documentation (if applicable)
Ensure proper documentation as per ISO standards
4. CAPA Management
Perform root cause analysis (Why-Why, Fishbone, 8D)
Implement corrective and preventive actions
Monitor effectiveness of actions taken
Maintain CAPA reports and closure status
5. Audit Handling
Conduct internal audits as per audit plan
Support external/customer audits
Ensure compliance with ISO and customer requirements
Close audit observations within timeline
Qualifications
Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering or related field
Experience
2–5 years in Quality Engineering (manufacturing industry preferred)
Skills Required
Knowledge of quality tools (7 QC tools, 8D, Why-Why Analysis)
Understanding of drawings, GD&T, and measurement techniques
Familiarity with ISO standards and audit processes
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Hands-on experience with inspection instruments (Vernier, Micrometre, etc.)
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Rejection / PPM levels
CAPA closure effectiveness
Audit compliance score
Supplier quality performance
In-process defect reduction
