Quality Control Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for using calibrated instruments to inspect, measure, and test products and materials, ensuring they meet all specified quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. You will play a key role in maintaining process consistency and driving continuous improvement across our production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform quality control inspections and testing using calibrated instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMMs, multimeters, and other precision measuring equipment)
Verify that incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products conform to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards
Maintain and monitor the calibration schedule for all measuring and testing instruments, ensuring compliance with calibration certificates and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025)
Record, analyze, and report inspection results, deviations, and non-conformances
Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes
Develop and update inspection plans, checklists, and quality control procedures
Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes
Ensure proper documentation and traceability of inspection records and calibration logs
Support internal and external audits related to quality systems
Train production staff on quality standards and proper use of inspection tools where needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field) or equivalent practical experience
2+ years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience using calibrated precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, etc.)
Solid understanding of calibration standards, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis techniques
Proficiency with MS Office and quality/inspection software or ERP systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Quality Engineering (e.g., ASQ CQE) or Metrology
Experience with CMM programming
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologies
