The QA Executive (Wood Industry) is responsible for ensuring that all timber and wood-based products meet defined quality standards, customer specifications, and industry regulations. The role includes monitoring raw timber quality, inspecting in-process machining (sawing, moulding, cutting), and verifying finished goods before dispatch.
Inspect incoming raw timber for defects (knots, cracks, moisture, grading).
Monitor machine-processed wood (saws, moulders, ripsaws) for correct dimensions, cutting quality, and finishing.
Ensure pallet planks, boards, and moulded parts meet size and strength requirements.
Conduct routine quality checks during each production stage and maintain inspection records.
Identify non-conformance, record defects, and coordinate with production for corrective action.
Test wood products for strength, durability, and moisture content where applicable.
Ensure packaging and storage standards are followed to avoid damage.
Implement and monitor QA processes, SOPs, and checklists across operations.
Assist in customer complaint resolution and preventive quality measures.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and scrap.
