The Maintenance Executive is responsible for ensuring smooth functioning, preventive upkeep, and repair of woodworking and timber processing machines such as saws, moulders, ripsaws, compressors, suction systems, and other equipment. The role involves planning preventive maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, reducing downtime, and ensuring all machines run safely and efficiently.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of woodworking machines (cut-off saws, multi ripsaws, moulders, arbor saws, pallet cutting machines, etc.).
Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, defects, or potential failures.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in machines.
Ensure proper functioning of suction/dust collection systems, compressors, and utility equipment.
Maintain maintenance schedules, logs, and service records.
Coordinate with production team to plan maintenance activities with minimal downtime.
Ensure availability of critical spare parts and tools.
Support installation, calibration, and commissioning of new machines.
Ensure all machines comply with safety regulations and preventive safety checks.
Train operators on basic maintenance practices (daily checks, lubrication, cleaning).
Assist in cost control by optimizing maintenance expenses and extending equipment life.
