Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Purchase Manager to manage end-to-end procurement activities. The candidate will be responsible for vendor development, purchase planning, negotiation, cost optimization, purchase orders, and ensuring timely availability of materials as per business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage RM and PM purchase activities as per production and inventory requirements.

• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.

• Negotiate price, quality, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms.

• Prepare and manage Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely order execution.

• Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, Accounts, and other departments for procurement requirements.

• Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, and material quality.

• Develop alternate vendors to ensure uninterrupted material availability.

• Maintain proper purchase records, vendor documentation, quotations, and comparative statements.

• Track market prices and identify opportunities for cost reduction and procurement optimization.

• Resolve issues related to delayed deliveries, shortages, quality concerns, and vendor discrepancies.

• Ensure procurement is aligned with company policies, budgets, and approved specifications.

• Maintain strong professional relationships with existing and potential suppliers.

• Prepare regular purchase reports and provide procurement updates to management.

Required Skills

• Strong vendor development and negotiation skills

• Good knowledge of RM & PM procurement

• Strong communication and coordination skills

• Good understanding of purchase processes and documentation

• Ability to compare quotations and evaluate suppliers

• Strong follow-up and problem-solving ability

• Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/software-based purchasing systems

• Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple procurement requirements

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 4–7 years of relevant experience in Purchase/Procurement, preferably in manufacturing, pharma, FMCG, Ayurveda, cosmetics, or related industries.

• Graduate qualification required; MBA in Supply Chain/Purchase/Operations will be preferred.

• Should have strong market knowledge and established vendor-handling capabilities.

• Candidates who can join at short notice will be preferred.
