The Purchase Executive is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, components, and services required for manufacturing heat exchangers. This includes items such as valves, nuts, bolts, electrical components, pipes, plates, and other engineering goods. The role ensures timely availability of materials at optimal cost while maintaining quality standards and vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
Identify and develop reliable vendors for raw materials and engineering components.
Procure items such as valves, fasteners (nuts, bolts), electrical goods, pipes, fittings, plates, and fabrication materials.
Float RFQs (Request for Quotations) and evaluate supplier quotations.
Compare prices, specifications, and delivery timelines.
Vendor Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Conduct vendor evaluation, selection, and performance reviews.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
Purchase Operations
Generate Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure accuracy.
Track order status and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Coordinate with stores, production, and quality teams.
Ensure proper documentation and record keeping.
Cost Control & Negotiation
Achieve cost savings through effective negotiation.
Monitor market trends for raw material pricing.
Develop alternate sources to reduce dependency.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure materials meet technical specifications and quality standards.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Inventory Coordination
Work closely with inventory/store teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
Avoid stock-outs and overstock situations.
Required Skills
Technical Skills
Knowledge of engineering materials (MS, SS, alloys, pipes, fittings, valves, fasteners, electrical items).
Understanding of manufacturing processes, especially heat exchangers.
Familiarity with BOM (Bill of Materials).
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Tally, or similar).
Strong MS Excel skills.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) / Commerce / Supply Chain Management
Additional certification in procurement or supply chain is a plus
Experience Required
2–5 years of experience in procurement/purchasing in manufacturing industry
Experience in heat exchanger, fabrication, or heavy engineering industry preferred
Hands-on experience in sourcing industrial components (valves, fasteners, electrical goods, etc.)
