Job Title: Merchandiser – Knits

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Merchandiser – Knits to manage end-to-end execution of knitwear production. The role involves handling fabric sourcing, sampling, production coordination, and delivery timelines while ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product & Sampling Management

• Handle development of knit samples (T-shirts, polos, sweatshirts, trackwear, etc.)

• Coordinate with design and sampling teams for approvals

• Ensure correct specifications (GSM, shrinkage, color fastness, fit)

2. Fabric & Sourcing

• Source knit fabrics (cotton, polyester, blends, Lycra, fleece, rib, etc.)

• Work closely with mills for dyeing, knitting, and finishing processes

• Ensure lab dips, shade approvals, and bulk fabric consistency

3. Production Coordination

• Plan and monitor production timelines from order confirmation to dispatch

• Coordinate with factories for cutting, stitching, finishing, and packing

• Ensure adherence to delivery schedules

4. Quality & Technical Control

• Monitor fabric quality (GSM, pilling, shrinkage, color variation)

• Conduct inline and final quality checks

• Ensure all buyer specifications are met

5. Vendor & Factory Management

• Manage relationships with knit fabric suppliers, dyeing units, and job workers

• Negotiate costing and ensure cost efficiency

• Follow up for timely execution

6. Order & Documentation Management

• Maintain POs, tech packs, BOMs, and production trackers

• Provide regular updates to management and sales teams

• Coordinate dispatch and logistics

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Textiles / Fashion / Apparel preferred)

• 2–5 years of experience in knit merchandising

• Strong knowledge of knit fabrics and garment construction

• Experience in handling dyeing, knitting, and finishing processes

• Good vendor coordination and follow-up skills

• Ability to manage multiple orders simultaneously

Preferred Skills

• Experience in uniforms / bulk production

• Knowledge of performance fabrics (dry-fit, stretch, blends)

• Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools

• Strong communication skills (English + Kannada preferred)
