Maintenance Engineer – Injection Moulding

Job Purpose
To ensure maximum machine uptime, smooth operation of injection moulding machines, utilities, and auxiliary equipment by carrying out preventive, breakdown, and predictive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Maintenance
• Handle breakdown maintenance of injection moulding machines (hydraulic / servo based)
• Troubleshoot issues related to:
• Hydraulic systems (valves, pumps, oil leakage)
• Electrical panels, PLCs, sensors
• Heaters, thermocouples, temperature controllers
• Reduce machine downtime and ensure quick recovery

2. Preventive Maintenance (PM)
• Prepare and execute daily / weekly / monthly PM schedules
• Maintain proper checklists and maintenance logs
• Ensure lubrication, cleaning, tightening, and calibration activities

3. Utility & Auxiliary Equipment
• Maintain:
• Air compressors
• Chillers
• Cooling towers
• Material loaders & dryers
• Monitor utility efficiency and reduce wastage

4. Mould Maintenance Support
• Coordinate with production for mould changeover readiness
• Support basic mould maintenance:
• Cleaning, greasing, minor repairs
• Identify mould-related issues affecting production quality

5. Spare Parts & Inventory
• Maintain critical spare parts list
• Coordinate with purchase for timely procurement
• Control maintenance cost without affecting performance

6. Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain records of:
• Breakdown history
• PM schedules
• Spare consumption
• Provide daily report to management

7. Safety & Compliance
• Ensure all maintenance activities follow safety standards
• Avoid electrical/hydraulic hazards
• Support audits and compliance checks

8. Continuous Improvement
• Suggest improvements to:
• Reduce breakdown frequency
• Improve machine efficiency (OEE)
• Reduce power and oil consumption

Key Skills Required
• Strong knowledge of:
• Injection moulding machines
• Hydraulics & pneumatics
• Basic PLC troubleshooting
• Hands-on troubleshooting mindset (very important )
• Ability to work under pressure during breakdowns
